On 20th August 2025, the student parliament representatives of Piliyandala Central College had the valuable opportunity to witness a live parliamentary session.

Accompanying them were the Principal, Mrs. H. Maheshika Wijayaratne, and the Student Parliament Teacher-in-Charge, Mrs. Nayana Kumari Damayanthi, together with ten student ministers.

During this visit, they engaged in a fruitful discussion with the Hon. Prime Minister, Dr. Harini Amarasuriya, focusing on the importance of the Student Parliament in nurturing democratic values and leadership skills among students.

The event was further enriched by the participation of Mr. Lakshman Nipunaarachchi, a distinguished old boy of the school and a present Member of Parliament.

The Prime Minister emphasized the crucial role of the Student Parliament in fostering future leaders, highlighting its contribution to developing responsible citizenship and leadership qualities in students.
